August 16: Hawthorne Street Fair 2008 | Too Much Going On!

Update: Portland's Hawthorne Street Fair is THIS Sunday: August 16, 2009

I believe this is the 15th Annual Hawthorne Street Fair. It's a fun time, and not that far from the Music Millennium Party or the Soap Box Derby Event. Wow, just too much going on Saturday.

From the horribly un-updated website that looks like it was built in ‘93:

Portland's neighborhoods celebrate their identity in many ways. The Hawthorne District throws a party.

The 14th 15th annual Hawthorne Street Fair featured over 60 merchants, an art car parade, a marching band, kids festivals, musicians and artists. The SE Portland neighborhood between SE 12th and SE 55th was the scene of one of the larger block parties in the city August 16-17, 1997 (ahhh 1997, such a simpler time).

Why is their no publicity for the Hawthorne street fair? I keep missing it, usually finding out about it a couple of days after it over.
