Update: 2010 July Concerts in the Park Schedule: Portland Summer Concert Series

Related: Our Portland events list

The Summer Concert Series begins in under two weeks at Sellwood and Mount Tabor Park. This is one of the best free activities Portland has to offer. The concerts are family-friendly and free. It is definitely advisable to bring your pick-i-nick baskets, chairs, and perhaps some wine and beer.

This is a picture from last year at the first Mt Tabor concert. A great feature of the Mount Tabor concerts is the location. It's warm with good light, but plenty of shade. I'll see you there.

    Thanks Emily,

I posted them last year and noticed that I have been getting a lot of people to the site searching for this year’s concerts. So, public service and all :)

Also, they are a lot of fun and a great free service by the city.

I love the juy conerts at Mt Tabor. I was very impressed with tonight’s talent (07/22/08).
I WAS NOT IMPRESSED with the woman who drove her van down the middle of the venue shortly after the show had ended.
She came quite close to hitting four children that I was watching, running her van (license # oregon ZUV 404) right down the middle of the amphitheatre, at an inappropriate speed, with no compassion for the little (young) people. Had I not been attentive, there might have been a disaster. I anyone reading this was witness, then please respond.

When approached, Ms. McCausland”s response was rude, and insensitive.
She said that she had not hit anyone in 26 years, and that I should leave as I was out of line. There was not an ounce of compassion.

I would like to know how I can be of assistance in the future planning of these wonderful shows. If the cleaning up is such an overwhelming job for those that have been involved, then there needs to be some new blood taking the responsibility.
Please contact me (Brian Lincoln), so that I might help make next week a better experience for my young friends.
I’ll run for a position if I have to.
    Brian Lincoln
Long time neighbor and fairly young dad.
