Jáce Gáce is proud to announce "The closest it Gets From a Safe Distance". This First major collaborative installation by Portland artists Gordon Barnes and Shelby Davis explores the nature of human ambivalence and the failure of information. In "the age of information" are we really more educated and informed, and does this information reflect in our decisions and our commitment to world issues? Thought provoking and surprisingly playful, Barnes and Davis address these major social and technological issues through common materials and shifts of scale. As we grow older, we become more informed but not necessarily closer to understanding.

After all, Can we ever truly empathize and understand if we haven't experienced something for ourselves?
