My Own Monsters.
British artist brings solo show to Portland.
Neil M. Perry is currently in Portland, Oregon to show his artwork before a new audience.
Neil's previous works include: Fine art printing, editorial illustration, collaborative wall murals for various events and exhibitions, and screen-printed clothing under his company name Green Tees. Neil is now seeking to bring his imagined naturalistic scenes filled with creatures born from personal exploration, to fresh eyes in the Pacific Northwest.
My Own Monsters, Neil's first solo show outside of the UK, is a cathartic expression of internal struggle with issues, vices and fears represented as ill-created beasts with recognizable animalistic features. Animal symbolism and cultural relevance of the depicted species have informed this body of work and makes for darkly playful pieces.
Consisting of three different sections (mixed media paintings, ink and wash drawings and screen prints) the show aims to exhibit the wide range of the artist's expressive abilities and skills.
Neil is available for interviews and to contribute in any way necessary to artists profile pieces upon request.

There are a couple of very cool videos on Neil’s website. This should be a great reception. According to http://www.facebook.com/neilmperryart “Support for the event is being provided by Depokos Wood-fired Pizza, Brother Bobs’ Roving Bakery and Hub Brewing. Tast…y, Tasty art”.
