Various is a monthly party showcasing the best in dubstep and jungle music with a healthy dose of dub all featured on the mighty H.A.S. soundsystem. The vibes at Various are always joyful and raucous. The bass is massive.

December 1st marks the 1 year anniversary of Various. Over the past 12 months, Various (hosted by Monkeytek and Ryan Organ) has featured quality sets from E3, Jon A.D., Kyle T.,Dial M, Struggle, The Bassist and Rubik. Our aim is to play and hear excellent bass-heavy music on a huge soundsystem and bring a different vibe to Portland nightlife.

MONKEYTEK

Monkeytek has been deejaying since 1996 and was brought up on oldskool jungle and dub. He's hosted a monthly show on subfm.com since April 2006 and curates Various with pal Ryan Organ.

Going to great lengths to keep the sounds fresh, Monkeytek works with producers to get upfront tunes to cut on dubplate. Always coming to the dancehall with a box full of unreleased dubs and some classics as well, a great time is always assured.

Working as an agent for locally based Lo Dubs Records, he finds hi-grade dubstep riddims to release on vinyl.
RYAN ORGAN

Heavy in the local music scene, Ryan Organ has been deejaying and promoting since the age of 16 back home in Canada. He is musically wise beyond his years and has a deep record collection with a high degree of diversity. Ryan has been holding down his radio show “The Eleventh Hour” weekly on KPSU for three years and co-founded pdxdnb.com, documenting goings on in the drum & bass community in Portland. Ryan co-founded Various alongside good friend Monkeytek in December 2006. He runs New York based jungle label Offshore Recordings alongside DJ Clever and runs his own web label Aleutian Audio, built to channel the high quality tunes being produced here in the Northwest. By day, Ryan can be found ordering dubstep and jungle at Anthem Records.

E3

E3 is a co-founder of the highly successful Atlas night at Holocene and ran BSI records for many years here in Portland. He brings a wealth of musical knowledge, joy and skills the the dance. E3 is one of our personal favourites and we had to have him join us at our first anniversary party.

DEVILLE

Deville comes to us all the way from Leeds, England with a slew of exclusives and dubs guaranteed to be new to your ears. He has been deejaying for 15 years, has produced a grip of quality dubstep tunes over the past few years as well. Deville co-hosts “The Fix-Up” on Subfm.com and manages digital sales and A&R for Senseless Records.

Deville's debut 12″ is coming out on Senseless Records late '07.

We are pleased to host his first portland appearance as he makes his way around North America!

deep last winter, we began our various party so we would have a night to play whatever we wants we personally get bored hearing or playing the same thing all night. basically, the idea is to bring a mixed genre party into portland nightlife.

the music: dubstep, jungle, dub and ruckus

various began as a one-off party and has since blossomed into a monthly. we have been holding the night at acme since january and have moved to branx. various takes place every 1st saturday at BRANX- 320 se 2nd avenue.

the sound is deep and bass heavy. it's essential to have this music represented properly. to that end, we employ h.a.s. sound system as often as possible

the players: core duo of monkeytek and ryan organ host various monthly. we are joined a rotation of guests deejays: jon a.d., dial m, e3,rubik, kyle t to name a few.

monkeytek has been hosting a monthly show on subfm.com since march 2oo6. ryan organ has been hosting a radio show called “the eleventh hour” on KPSU for 3 years.

both gents are involved with record labels as well. ryan operates a web-based mp3 label called ALEUTIAN AUDIO which features some heavy tunes from northwest producers specifically, as well as co-manages the NY left-field drum & bass label Offshore Recordings..
monkeytek operates for the benefit of LO DUBS, also based in portland and has 2 vinyl releases available thus far from the likes of starkey and 6blocc.
