<p class="snap_preview"><font color="#999999"><a href="http://www.artinstitutes.edu/portland/events.asp" title="The Art Institute of Portland Events Calendar" target="_blank">The Art Institute of Portland Graduate Portfolio Show</a> is less than two weeks away &#8211; Friday September 14th 2007!</font></p>
<p><font color="#999999">I&#39;ve been attending the graduate portfolio show for the past 2+ years, eagerly anticipating the work of my fellow students, learning from their successes &amp; failures. Now it&#39;s my turn.</font></p>
<p><font color="#999999">I enrolled in the <a href="http://www.artinstitutes.edu/portland/programs_degrees.asp?pid=53&amp;dtid=5&amp;display=program" title="Advertising" target="_blank">Advertising program</a> at AiPD in the fall of 2004 and for the past 3+ years it&#39;s been a constant struggle to find a balance between school (in &amp; out of the classroom), <a href="http://www.amplify-interactive.com/" title="Search Engine Marketing" target="_blank">work</a> and being a wife &amp; a mom. There have been many sleepless nights to say the least and many sacrifices made along the way, but I knew the payoff would be priceless.</font></p>
<p><font color="#999999">During my time at AiPD, I&#39;ve had the opportunity to accomplish some pretty amazing things. Two notable items worth mentioning:</font></p>
<ol>
<li><font color="#999999">Recipient of the <a href="http://ad2seattle.org/StudentADDYsPR.pdf" title="2007 Student ADDY award winner list" target="_blank">Gold Student ADDY award</a> in March 2007 for a cervical cancer awareness public service announcement</font></li>
<li><font color="#999999">Founder, VP of <strong>brash</strong>creative (a student organized advertising agency that works with Portland businesses to develop integrated creative solutions)</font></li>
</ol>
<p><font color="#999999">Words can&#39;t describe how good it feels to finally finish my BS and at the same time help create a legacy that other students will benefit from in the years to come.</font></p>
<p><font color="#999999">In the last few days before graduation, I&#39;m trying to stay sane and must remind myself that it&#39;s ok to sleep. The infamous portfolio will live on…</font></p></blockquote>

<strong>Wheel</strong><br />
<em>The varying degrees of rust juxtaposed with the symmetry of the wheel give it depth and dimension.</em></p>
<p>Now that the Portland Halloween season has ended or almost ended, we are <a href="http://www.cafepress.com/pdxpipeline" target="_blank">introducing some new 2008 calenders and other products featuring local Portland artists</a>.</p>
<p><img src="http://jitcrunch.cafepress.com/jitcrunch.aspx?bG9hZD1ibGFuayxibGFuazo3NV9GZWJydWFyeS5qcGd8bG9hZD1MMSxodHRwOi8vaW1hZ2VzLmNhZmVwcmVzcy5jb20vaW1hZ2UvMjMzMjU4ODZfNDAweDQwMC5qcGd8fHNjYWxlPUwxLDE4NCwxMzgsV2hpdGV8Y29tcG9zZT1ibGFuayxMMSxBZGQsMTQ5LDUwfGxvYWQ9bWFzayxibGFuazo3NV9GZWJydWFyeV9tYXNrLmpwZ3xjb21wb3NlPWJsYW5rLG1hc2ssTWFzaywwLDB8Y3A9cmVzdWx0LGJsYW5rfHNjYWxlPXJlc3VsdCwwLDQ4MCxXaGl0ZXxjb21wcmVzc2lvbj05NXw=" align="middle" height="480" hspace="6" vspace="6" width="480" /></p>
<p>From Kristin Wall:</p>
<blockquote><p><font color="#808080"> There&#39;s a handful of places in Portland that visually recharge my batteries and serve as inspiration for my photography. Two of my favorites are alongside the train tracks on Highway 30 in North Portland and the hub of the North East. Both are true representations of what is means to live in Portland.</font></p></blockquote>
<h5><font color="#808080"><em><font color="#000000">To <a href="http://www.cafepress.com/pdxpipeline.184803148" title="2008 Calender featuring the work of PDX/Portland Oregon artists Kristin Wall" target="_blank">buy this 12-photo 2008 calender ($19.99)</a>, or other Portland/PDX PIPELINE products by Kristin Wall, go to <a href="http://www.cafepress.com/pdxpipeline" title="PDX PIPELINE Gear shop featuring local Portland, Oregon artists" target="_blank">our Cafe Press shop; Cafepress.com/pdxpipeline</a>.</font> </em></font><span id="more-1011"></span></h5>
<blockquote><p>Kristin Wall is a recent graduate of AiPD. On the day of her portfolio show, I took this information from her website and posted it here…(by the way, the portfolio shows are fantastic!)<!--more--><span></span></p>

<h2><font color="#999999">September 14th 2007: The Art Institute of Portland Graduate Portfolio Show</font></h2>
<ol>
<li><font color="#999999">Recipient of the <a href="http://ad2seattle.org/StudentADDYsPR.pdf" title="2007 Student ADDY award winner list" target="_blank">Gold Student ADDY award</a> in March 2007 for a cervical cancer awareness public service announcement</font></li>
<li><font color="#999999">Founder, VP of <strong>brash</strong>creative (a student organized advertising agency that works with Portland businesses to develop integrated creative solutions)</font></li>
</ol>
