Hi Julian,

Well now…

Might you have the time and interest in writing up my fashion show so it could be in the paper? The show is November 17th, If my dreams came true you would want to write it up and it would be Blogged the week before, November 12th or so:)

The materials I am working with are: leather, pheasant feathers, wool suiting and chiffon. My inspiration right now is a bit SW Indian meets Manhattan. Minnetonka Moccasins, Taupe tights, feather/leather headbands, Needle worked Moths (the book Prodigal Summer is very much sewn into this whole collection and idea). The moths for my logo come from the hopi moth, which will be embellished onto the pieces along with lots of little leather detailing) Jewelry (a special Collection) by Anna Korte- my partner, my muse. www.iheartanna.com/ www.iheartanna.etsy.com

The show is going to be simple and with little pomp and circumstance. No runway. No Changes. 6-8 models/mannequins in their designated looks (all hair & makeup along with shoes & tights will be styled in one way) floating about a hopefully beautiful (and packed) cocktail party.

I want my girls to be able to be touched. I want to allow my NEW fans to get to know who I am, why i made what I did…or just connect in a way fashion shows rarely allow the designers to. It all goes back to why i moved to Portland to design, community. Fashion here is communal and I want to get a piece of my own presentation! The party begins @ 7p.m. and will go on until it doesn't.

Amalee is hosting it, we will be clearing out the space in order to allow a come and go open atmosphere. I really want there to be a sense of freedom…like a moth in flight;) (there will also be a dj)
