The Skylark Tappers are thrilled to present: MUSIC & SOLE II – a unique tap dancing concert.

Choreographed by renowned, award winning Artistic Director, Judy Tibbles; featuring live Jazz music directed by Jack Buddeke and band; and sparkling Jazz vocals by Portland Jazz Society Hall of Fame inductee, Marilyn Keller.

Music & Sole II will take Portland Audiences on a rich, cultural journey that showcases days reminiscent of live Jazz Music and Tap dance sessions, Classic Tap, Latin Rhythms, Broadway, Comedy and Contemporary Dance. The Skylark Tappers bring years of experience from all over America and devote their attention to advancing the art of tap dance through performances and attending local jazz jams.

Guest Bios:
Marilyn Keller (Vocalist) brings sparkle, grace and a wealth of experience to the bandstand.  She is known for her “riveting stage presence, and killer renditions of gospel/blues”.  As a most recent inductee into Portland Jazz Society’s Hall of Fame, Marilyn can be seen frequently at restaurants, clubs, festivals and holiday events throughout the Pacific Northwest. https://www.facebook.com/marilynkellermusic/

Jack Buddeke (Musical Director) is the winner of the 2003 Mel Brown Award.  He has composed and arranged music for PSU’s Big Band and numerous small ensembles.  Jack is the 1st chair piano in the Portland State University Big Band and has accompanied the PSU Jazz Choir. http://www.multnomahartscenter.org/about-mac/instructors/jack-buddeke/

    I still have tap shoes in the closet somewhere. Not that I could do it anymore, but… It’d be awfully fun to see professionals!
