This summer, treat the whole family to a city wide scavenger hunt with Urban Adventure Quest, which turns Portland into a giant game board!

Urban Adventure Quest has created an interactive scavenger hunt that combines the fun of the Amazing Race with a three-hour sightseeing tour of Portland. Guided from any smart phone, groups make their way among well-known and overlooked gems of the city, solving clues and completing challenges while learning local history.

The adventure begins in the heart of downtown at Pioneer Courthouse Square and takes you on a journey to see the best sights of the city. From the Arts district to Powell’s bookstore and Voodoo Doughnuts … as well as amazing stops in between, you will enjoy all that Portland has to offer. The tour requires approximately 2.4 miles of walking and you will also experience the city’s famous street cars.

Using a smart phone as “the guide” allows participants to start when they want and determine their own pace of play. Stop to enjoy lunch or take in the sights… why not, it’s your schedule? Offered at a fixed price for a group vs. per person pricing, this city tour/game offers a great value to those on a budget.

When I was little, my mom would arrange a scavenger hunt each Christmas. My “biggest” present would always require a whole morning of work, deciphering clues, running around town. She has always loved adventure.

Mom is visiting me in Portland mid-September and she would LOVE (love love love) to do this with me.

I love love LOVE! scavenger hunts and have turned many onto letterboxing. I’ve been in Portland 11 years come labor day and there are still so many places to explore and things to do. I feel like we live in a city with endless possibilities! This sounds so incredibly fun!! (I’m 31 and I still hunt Easter eggs every year, so yes, this is perfect for me!)

  46. Greg Daniels August 30, 2015 at 6:39 pm #

My wife and I somehow pulled off a 4 day weekend away from work. We decided to see what makes Portland weird (and also check out the beer and food — cause why the heck not?). A scavenger hunt excursion would be an awesome way to discover what Portland has to offer.

    So how bout it? :)
