The Portland Farmers Market @ Shemanski Park (SW Park & Salmon) unveils a new “Winter Market” this Saturday and runs through the end of February. There are over 35 vendors of the winter market, and you can see the list below and links to websites. They are also have prize contests, and have set up tents to protect shoppers from the winter weather elements.

Mythologist Kate Bruner defines myth and speaks to how it has affected much of daily lives. Learn why a coward is called, “yellow” and what African mythology has to do with Bugs Bunny, along with why we use the term “werewolf” instead of “manwolf”. These things and a lot more will be illuminated by Kate Bruner, an English teacher at Clark College with a Ph. D. in English from Auburn.

The Jack London is located in the basement of the historic Rialto Pool Room. Doors open at 5 for food and full service bar. Presentation begins at 7:30 p.m. 21+ only please. Free!

The Blazers lost their first game of the season on Sunday against the rising LA Clippers. They face an Oklahoma City Thunder team tonight that many people predict the Western Division this year. The Thunder are coming off a loss to the NBA Champion Dallas Mavericks last night. With a win, the Blazers will move to first place in the West. Blazers come home after this game to play the seemingly vulnerable LA Lakers on Thursday night.
