One of Portland’s favorite holiday events, the Christmas Ships Parade, starts the 2011 season this week and runs through December 20. The video above was shot a few years back and gives you a great view of how nice this event is.

What better way to celebrate the anniversary of the 21st Amendment than with a night of trivia devoted to the intoxicating beverages it legalized? Beer, booze, wine, and any other beverage you must be 21 to legally consume is fair game. We’ll also be collecting donations on this night for the Creature Comforts campaign at the Hollywood Theatre, which recently began serving beer, and has donated movie passes for the winning team.

Every year, we partner up with Shaver Elementary to help get some food to local folks in need. And since we want to reward you for your generosity, each team that brings 5 non-perishable food items (or more!!!) to trivia during this time will receive a single bonus point! I know some of y’all like to show off, so feel free to peacock it up with a ridiculous amount of food to pass along to some people who could really use it!
