The Timbers have arrived in Vancouver in need of three points if they want to make the playoffs. The Whitecaps, firmly entrenched at the bottom of the league table, are opening their newly renovated stadium, BC Place, and will want to spoil the playoff chances of their Cascadian rivals. This derby should be a hard fought match both on and off the pitch with several hundred Timbers Army supporter making the long trip up to Canada to cheer on the Timbers.
The final four games of the Timbers season have taken on vital importance after their failure to take the full three points against San Jose and New York in recent weeks.
