More Portland Timbers Coverage on Pipeline

After a late game collapse against last place Toronto FC, the Timbers play host to the league leading LA Galaxy tonight at Jeld Wen Field. The Timbers have continued to give up goals in the final minutes of games all season long, losing many points because of it. In recent games against Toronto, New York, and Seattle, the Timbers have given up leads at home of 2-0, 3-1,1-0, and 2-1. It appears that the Timbers do not have the stamina to play a full ninety minutes, a notion that Timbers’ coach John Spencer played down recently claiming that it was actually mental fatigue that was a problem for his squad.

The Timbers have only one win in their last ten games and have rapidly dropped out of contention for the playoffs. A win at home to LA could quickly turn things around. Read the rest of this entry »
