Nearly 80,000 beer lovers from around the world will flock to the 24th annual Oregon Brewers Festival, one of the nation’s longest running and best loved craft beer festivals. Update: 2011 Sand in the City Pictures | Pioneer Square

Portland’s Sand in the City returns this Friday to Pioneer Courthouse Square. Load in day is Thursday and building starts Friday morning. Always interesting to watch the building as well as the finished product. Standout times to be there/things to see are the Awards ceremony and Last Regiment performance on Friday, Luau in the City on Saturday, and the demolition on Sunday should also be interesting to see.

We took many Sand in the City photos a couple years back and the thumbnails of those are posted below. It costs $3/$5 per person this year (previous years was free to view) and there are special passes and events that you can purchase tickets for. It’s for a good cause and always a fun time.
