The Hoot Owls was a weekly hour and a half long show with more than one million listeners. It had been broadcasting for four years when Mel Blanc joined the cast in 1927. He moved to KEX, a KGW affiliate in 1933 to write, produce and star in his own hour long daily (Monday through Saturday) show, “Cobweb & Nuts”. Sprokettes at Multnomah County Bike Fair
SE Portland, Oregon

Portland’s Pedalpalooza events are wrapping up this weekend, but one of the best events is still to come–the Multnomah County Bike Fair. It appears to have moved from the traditional location of Colonel Summers Park to “12th and Alder”…which I guess means Washington high school. Here is the description from a few years back:

HOT DAMN, WE’RE HAVING A FAIR!
And you’re going to want to be there! The Multnomah County Bike Fair brings 1,200 people together to celebrate, in bicycle mayhem-fashion, the close of Shift’s Pedalpalooza.Come to visit fun booths, vendors, and bicycle crafts. And do partake in the competitions because competing is free and it’s about the fun, not the winning you know.
