Review: Lazarillo @ Miracle Theater | Love, Loss, Laughter & Hip-Hop

Based on a 16th century picaresque novel, Lazarillo brings you into the mean streets of the Bronx during the late eighties and early nineties in this hilarious interpretation by Carlos Alexis Cruz. Cruz also stars as Lazarillo, a young Puerto Rican boy abandoned in American, whose only desire is to survive.

Miracle’s production combines the graffiti and hip-hop culture of the Bronx in the early nineties with the physical comedy of Commedia dell’arte , a surprisingly delightful combo. This Weekend: Portland’s 24th Annual Doggie Dash | Early Registration Ends Thursday

The Oregon Humane Society’s 24th Annual Doggie Dash takes place this Saturday. Its a great event that raises money for OHS, and also a great people/pet watching event for dog lovers big and small. Expect to see some floppy ears on the MAX Saturday; TriMet is allowing Doggie Dash participants to ride the train with their pooches until 2 p.m.
