On February 12th at the Wonder Ballroom, several local bands will gather and perform for two good causes: to cover their favorite 80s guilty-pleasure love songs and to benefit Ethos Music.

Put on by local indie-pop-shoegazer outfit Charmparticles, Cover Your Hearts is in its 4th year. This year's line-up is a mixture of Cover Your Hearts veterans and fresh faces: Bryan Free, Drew Grow and the Pastor's Wives, Dr. Theopolis, Tango Alpha Tango, Deepest Darkest, Chris Robley, UHF, Ravishers and, of course, Charmparticles themselves.

In case you missed it, Bryan Free's performance at last year's event was included as the #1 Portland live music moment on a recent "Best of 2010" list at opbmusic.org here.

A show filled with so much sheer fun that it's easy to forget that it's a fundraiser, Charmparticles created Cover Your Hearts as a way to sneak philanthropy into the local rock scene and to raise money for the non-profit music educators at Ethos Music.
