2012 Update–> Win Tickets ($60): Buckman-Kerns Brewfest Festival @ East Burn | Beer, Food, Seven Breweries

————————————————————————

By Samurai Artist
This Sunday the inner SE neighborhood gets its very own bright eyed newborn Beer Festival in the very first Buckman-Kerns Brewfest to be held at East Burn and organized by everyone’s favorite EB bartender Kat Finn.

Curiously 4 out of the 5 breweries represented at the fest have opened their doors within the last year including Coalition Brewing, Migration, Burnside, Cascade Barrel House and the Buckman Village Brewery at the Green Dragon. Rounding out the 5 is the up and coming nano brewery Natian located in the Portland Bottling building.

The first annual fest promises live music (Fruition String Band), food (Porchetta in addition to the full menu) and of course beers  many of which most have not had before making this a great time and place to get acquainted with The New School of PDX brewers and fittingly myself and compatriot Ben Edmunds of The New School will be judging beers along with the legend herself the Beer Goddess Lisa Morrison.

The Blazers had a day to think about their tough overtime loss to the Miami Heat on Sunday. It's back to work as the New York Knicks are in town to do battle.

The Knicks do not play defense, and are looking for the game to be a shootout. It should come as no surprise that they lead the league in scoring, and are 28th in points allowed. They have no real size, and their backup center is named Timofey Mozgov.

The Heat on paper:
Starting five: Wilson Chandler, Shawne Williams, Amare Stoudemire, Raymond Felton, Landry Fields
Off the bench: Ronny Turiaf, Toney Douglas, Timofey Mozgov, Bill Walker, Anhonty Randolph
