See Portland Music! Terry's Picks For January 7-13 + Downloads

By Terry Gentry

Terry's PDX picks for the second week of January 7-13. Please note I did not include the Rivercity Music Festival (Win tickets here), which has a nice line up of great artists. If you enjoy Bluegrass and Americana music you should check it out.

This week will feature shows that should get you dancing. Also, on Wednesday there are 2 different shows I would have really enjoyed seeing (Liz Janes at Mississippi Studios, and Dead Meadows and Sweet Apple—sometimes you need a great rock show), but I have to see The Hood Internet.

This show is going to induce dancing to the point of dripping sweet.  It also features some local dancers.  I really can't wait.  I have been hoping for Picureplane to make it to our fair city since hearing the song New Mind last summer.  Pictureplane is the work of Travis Egedy.  I first became familiar with his work through his remixes for Crystal Castles and Health.  His sound is unique in many ways with influences of house and dub.  I look forward to the follow up of 2009's Dark Rift.
