Watch 30+ Hours Of Oregon Civil War Game TV Coverage | Ducks Vs Beavers

Oregon Civil War Makers Mark Bottles | Ducks vs BeaversTomorrow is the big Oregon Civil War game with the #1 Ducks taking on the Beavers in Corvallis. Starting earlier today, Comcast Sports TV came out with nearly wall-to-wall Civil War coverage (except the Trail Blazers sadness).

If you feel like watching the game tomorrow isn't enough, below are many more shows to get info and action, replays, analysis, etc.

Also, I saw these Ducks & Beavers Civil War themed Maker Mark bottles at 11th Avenue Liquor is at SE Hawthorne and 11th, but you can find them all over town/state right now. Good for Hot Toddies.

North Portland Santacon Pictures & Video + 2010 Info | "NOPDX Anticon"

First off, this is not associated with the actual trademarked and fought over name “Sanatcon”. We put that in the title, because that is how people associate dressing up as Santa and having a good rampage around town this time of year. Also, the rules are copied from the “UK Santacon” on the site…so please Santaconers…save your hate comments/mail. Just trying to point people to North Portland to have fun…

No PDX Santicon
Saturday, December 4 · 12:30pm – 11:30pm
Meet at Paul Bunyan Statue
Facebook Event: facebook.com/5813095

Some things to keep in mind…copied from the UK Santacon

1-The "route and schedule" is open to liberal interpretation by Santa at all times. There is no head Santa in charge to call. If you can't show up for the start or get lost, get the mobile number of someone who can help you catch up later. Depending on the year there may be guiding Santas, flags to follow or some technological Santanav system, or you may wish to come up with your own idea to help Santa find their way.

2-Santa dresses for all occasions. It's December. Smart Santas wear layers. Dress to maximize merriment whether singing christmas carols in the snow, or dancing manically in the shopping centre.

3-Santa doesn't whine! We will be outside much of the early day and covering a lot of ground on foot — bring a bottle of water and enough "snacks" to keep your pie-hole filled until we get indoors.

4-Bring small gifts — NAUGHTY gifts to give grown ups; NICE stuff to give kids. Visit a pound shop, wrap up coal, sweets and brussels sprouts; Santa loves stickers, hug vouchers and mistletoe.

5-Watching Santa get drunk can be fun. Babysitting Santa while they vomit in an alley or breaking up fights is not. Don't be that Santa. You are responsible for yourself! Pace your drinking and be nice to your fellow Santa.

6-Twisting the Christmas paradigm until it screams for mercy is fun! Getting arrested is not. Have your own special surreal fun, but DON'T Read the rest of this entry »

From press release:
Tomorrow: St. Johns Winter Fest, A Dickens Of An Affair | North Portland

St. John's Winter Fest
St. Johns Main Street Plaza
(located on the corner of N. Lombard & N. Philadelphia)
December 5th, 2010 10 am to 10 pm

Historic St. Johns offers an escape from the ordinary with Winter Fest, a Dickens of an Affair. On December 5, 2010 events planned will circle around the return of the Christmas tree in the Plaza.  This celebration of young and old will mix a fabulous 25 foot Victorian Decked Living Christmas tree with handmade ornaments and garland. The Highlight of the day will be the tree lighting in the plaza. Taking place at 3:30pm, Mayor Sam Adams will do the honors. Moonstruck Chocolates will be handing out their prized truffles, and giving you the opportunity to travel through downtown and find the moonstruck stars for a chance to enter to win a private tour of the chocolate factory, a prize you cannot buy.

For the neighbors, this prize carries the same mystique as Willie Wonka's factory and the desire to peak inside.

Winter Fest is packed with dozens of Dickens inspired events, breakfast with Santa at McMenamins, a five course Dickens inspired dinner at James John Café, Trunk shows in various shops like the Salty Teacup and at the North End Gallery the focus will be an auctioned art show showcasing unique artists. But don't count out the Bachelors club who have donned their own twist and threaten to Scrooge the fest.

Game 19: Portland Trail Blazers vs Washington Wizards | Blazers Need A Road Trip Win

December 3, 4PM; Comcast Sports
Portland Trail Blazers Schedule

Three games ago, I declared that the Blazers could realistically go 3-1 on this road trip. They are currently 0-3.

Tonight the Blazers are in the District of Columbia to play the 5-12 Washington Wizards. They struggle to get easy points, rebound and play defense.

The Wizards do have some young talent to hang their collective hat on. Most notably, rookie point guard John Wall, who desperately needs to find a better team. Along side Wall, the Wizards have the awkwardly lanky JaVale McGee, who blocks shots, rebounds and scores the ball decently. McGee's biggest problem is that he has a tendency to play a little soft sometimes (a problem Blazers fans are familiar with thanks to Read the rest of this entry »
