From Leigh Feldman:

Things I'm currently jocking…

Free ish… We have tix here and will be giving away some on twitter (add @leighfeldman3) to win tickets to Twista (thurs), DJ Spinna/Rob Swift/Rev. Shines (fri), Ctrl_Alt_Dlt (sat), Jamie Lidell (sun), Caribou (wed)! Wanna win any of them? Forward this email to a friend, have them write us asking to join the group and we'll enter you both in a drawing to win — or you can find us on facebook at facebook.com/LifeisaPartyFB to get tickets, music and info on weekly events. (These are from Leigh, not Pipeline)

PDXPipeline also has tickets for Crystal Ballroom, Bagdad Theater, Home & Garden Show, Lesbian & Gay Film Fest, Helium Comedy Club, Mt Tabor Theater, Goodfoot Lounge here

Free music ish… Doc Adam's Ay Tan Sucia mixtape! For those of you unfamiliar with the genre of music known as moombathon, this is a great introduction. I once read a description of the sound as "it involves chopped and screwed Dutch House made to sound like the bastard child of reggaeton." Basically what it means is that you should check it out! mediafire.com/?hv7b62ls85xm303

Awesome ish… Next Sat Oct. 9th is Second Saturday, which means that LifeisaParty throws a party and we pay for the first hour of your drinks! It also happens to be the same night as the PDX Edition of the famous NYC event known as BLAP, where producers, mc's and music makers gather to showcase their stuff. Come join us next Saturday at the Crown Room, where you'll get an hour of free drinks, music from Sabzi of the Blue Scholars, Illmind (who has worked with Redman, De La Soul, Eminem and tons more), YRB magazine, music supervisors from Madison Square Garden and a chance to hear some music from some of the best in the NW!

Life is a party, everyone is just waiting to be invited.
See you all out and about! Leigh Feldman

Die Antwoord zef-rapper Ninja was a part of South African hip-hop scene for many years, fronting such acts as The Original Evergreens, The constructus corporation and max normal.tv. Since Die Antwoord his inner zef persona turned out to be Ninja: a fast rapping futuristic and rough zef godfather who is very different from any other rapper you have ever seen before. Period. Really listening to your inner zef is the only way to bring your own secret skills above and create personal art and firework…

OPENING RECEPTION
FIRST FRIDAY ~ October 1st
at Caffe d'ARTe | 1615 NE 15th Ave | 6-9pm

My goal is to draw the most important icons of Portland, to find the image that represents Portland to everyone. My drawings are documentary artifacts that capture a visual record of the city's iconic landmarks. Without the aid of a photograph, I draw on location, sketching out the composition. Later I embellish the details.

My attention to architectural detail is related to my past and future work as an archaeologist Read the rest of this entry »

Watch Football: Oregon Ducks vs Stanford & OSU Beavers vs Arizona State In Portland & Online

———–

2o11 UPDATE: Watch Oregon Ducks vs Stanford In Portland & Online | Food & Drink Specials

————————

ARE YOU READY FOR SOME COLLEGE FOOTBALL?

This is another huge week for college football, especially here in Oregon where both the Beavers and Ducks have meaningful games.

Our partners at Tanker Bar (SE 48th and Hawthorne) open at noon and have action all day (and all season) and both Oregon games take place during Happy Hour (3pm to 8pm, $1pbrs, $2.00 dos equis, $2.00 coors light tall boys & 15 Taps!)! Picture is from people viewing World Cup there a couple months back.

Info for this weekend:
Oregon State vs Arizona State 3:30PM
#4 Oregon Ducks vs #9 Stanford 5:00pm

The #5 Oregon Ducks vs #9 Stanford Cardinals

“THE O” have their first true test of the season this weekend playing Stanford. And no offense to the Ducks, but I’m sure it will be nice to be playing @ the eardrum-shattering Autzen Stadium because the Cardinals are for real. They won’t be coughing up the ball seven times like the desert people last weekend. Last week we stated Oregon could move up to third and be in the National Championship contention talks. They didn’t move up to 3rd as the top three all stayed on course since the Beaves were unable to knock off the Blue Fielders, Alabama came back like champions do, and Ohio State played a patsy like every Big Ten school.

It doesn’t matter. The Oregon Ducks are in the National championship discussion anyway, and if they knock off Stanford significantly, they can still jump Boise State who plays a far weaker game against New Mexico State.

The Oregon State Beavers vs Arizona State

The Beavers really need a victory this weekend. You gotta give it up to them for taking on two TOP 5 teams in their first three games, but a losing record even when two losses are to big teams doesn’t get you in a bowl game. Plus, if they can hold Arizona State under a million yards and beat them soundly without seven gimmes (2 or 3 in the REDZONE last week?!!), they will be back in the “do they have a chance against the Ducks” debate which we all want to see happen.
