75+ Portland Weekend Events, Parties & Free Tickets | August 5-8
August 5, 2010 — PDXPIPELINE
Leigh sent out his weekly email of Portland weekend events earlier today. It is mostly reproduced below with some additions by Pipeline. You can get the email and your chance to win hookups for shows and deals by emailing leighfeldman3 @ gmail and asking to join
There are many listings so we have put events in red (blue = linked!) that we think will be good, well attended, or should be interesting.
Reminder: We give out free tickets to our Portland Facebook Group including to many of the top music and art venues in Portland. Join it if you like free stuff. Not on Facebook? Join our email list and win there.
From Leigh Feldman:
Things I'm currently jocking…
Free ish… We have tix here and will be giving away some on twitter (add @leighfeldman3) to FRESH 1 Year Anniversary w/ Samiyam & Nordic Soul (Fri), Seu Jorge (sun) and Vieux Farka Toure (wed)! Wanna win any of them? Forward this email to a friend, have them write us asking to join the group and we'll enter you both in a drawing to win — or you can find us on facebook at facebook.com/LifeisaPartyFB to get tickets, music and info on weekly events. (These are from Leigh, not Pipeline. Email/follow him to win these.)
Free music ish… The RRS Feed is a crew of three female dj's down in Cali. They rip it, pure and simple. For fans of Erykah Badu, Slum Village, future music, broken window jazz, soul, J Dilla etc etc grab this mix – http://bit.ly/cslWCV
Awesome ish… FRESH is teaming up with DECIBEL FEST for a PDX Pre-party featuring LA based Brainfeeder beatsmith SAMIYAM, along with the first Portland performance by SPLATINUM. Add a dj set by Tyler Tastemaker and this Friday night party at Crown Room will certainly be a crazy event for any fan of glitch, bass and sample based electronica.
Even more awesome ish… Next weekend is the Second Saturday of the month, which means it is open bar party time! For members of LifeisaParty, be prepared for an awesome night of music (Inspired Flight — the side project of band members that perform live with members of Wu-Tang Clan and Living Legends + DJ Doc Adam & Ronin Roc) and FREE drinks on us! More details next week or on facebook.com/LifeisaPartyFB
This list is growing by leaps and bounds. Turn to the person next to
you and see if they are reading the same email. If not, forward it to
them and tell them to join the community.
