Preview: Six Bands To See @ 2010 PDX Pop Now! Festival | July 30 – August 1

Posted by Mike Harper

Last year, the unrelenting July sunlight lashed down on a young crowd that moved in and out of Rotture like circulated air in heaving musical lungs. We've had a bit of repose from the sun's hellish rays this year, but PDX Pop Now! will prove as hot as ever! Daytime tuneage for all ages to enjoy, starting this Friday at 6pm (not so daytimeish, but Saturday and Sunday lineups start at high noon)!

Swing by in between your weekend romping and get sucked into the parking lot dance party of the summer! Check out the full schedule here http://pdxpopnow.org/schedule, and a few things to look forward to:

And And And
Friday, Inside @ 9:30
Riding on a wave of sound into long fresh summer days, swimming in instrumentation and carefully lazy harmonies.

Blue Horns
Friday, Inside @ 6:00
Fun, upbeat, and reminscent of yesteryear's not-quite-pop, sopping in some sort of 1977.

Guantanamo Baywatch
Saturday, Outside @ 2:05
Surf like it should be — quivering vocals and quaking tremolo under a danceable dirty tide.

Asss
Saturday, Outside @ 6:55
Echoing beats and not-so-random noises. You wish your ass could be so tribal.

Wampire
Saturday, Inside 2 8:20
If the jolliest children you knew ate acid on a cloud, with guitars and drum machines and things, it might sound like Wampire.

Reporter
Sunday, Inside @ 9:40
Every neon colour you can feel in the pulse of your feet, dancing, and dancing, and dancing…
