Portland's Summer Santacon Is Tomorrow | "Xmas in July"

Related: 75+ Portland Weekend Events, Parties, & Free Tickets | July 1-4

Tomorrow is the Summer Santacon, so you have one day to Santa up and have a party. And it will be a good one. Picture below is of the winter Santacon. Expect many of tomorrow's santas to have much less clothing…probably a lot like this one.  Photo by ohhh_yeah808

How to know when/where? Gotta follow the twitter: @santaconPDX

From Drunken Rampage:
This Saturday, July 3 (crap, that's close) is the Summer Santacon, put on by Cacophony. Details are scarce, but upon pain of testicular removal via rusty samurai sword, the powers that be have agreed to let us divulge the following things:

1) (redacted)'s testicles are the ones at risk. He should find out about that little detail about the same time he opens this email.

2) The place to meet is at Beulahland, NE 28th & Burnside. Santa will meet there at noon and eat, then move out around 1pm (so, show up at noon if you want food, and just before 1 if you don't). Read the rest of this entry »

Tonight: Huge Art Show – "88 Strong" | Every Piece Framed & Only $50

Related: 75+ Portland Weekend Events, Parties, & Free Tickets | July 1-4

Our friends Chris Haberman and Jason Brown (Po Boy, Goodfoot Curator) have teamed up to start bringing shows to the Po Boy studio on SE Stark. If you live in or visit the area, you've probably seen the space from the outside and wondered about it.

I believe last month was the first time they used if for an opening. It was unofficial and a soft opening, yet still a good turnout. I know one thing about tonight–even this weather can't stop this from being a party. The prices are great (perfect for presents!). Everything is framed. It's cash and carry. Oh…and there are 88 artists involved, so that means likely 88 artists and their hundreds of friends will show up tonight. Nothing much better than that.

Also, Haberman sent me a different pic about an hour ago and there is a LOT more art than this below appears to have.

From Press Release:

88 STRONG
a grand opening group show of 88 artists
