This year I made a vow to play hookie and go and enjoy some of the fine blues music. Second, I’ve never been on cruise before. I’m the one thats always stuck in traffic due to the bridge lift because of the cruises. This time I want to be on the boat instead of on the bridge. I hope you will consider me and hey I’ll even be the unoffical photographer. Thank you for your time

  78.   Shantel Says:

These tickets and me are meant to be and I have two good reasons why I should get’em!
I have been in Portland two years and I have known of the PDX Blues fest for many years prior. Once I moved to Portland I was thrilled to be able to attend the festival, yet loe and behold a couples weeks before it started I was diagnosed with a malignant cancer and required immediate surgery! It effin’ sucked! (And can totally be proven)
My second reason is that Monday July 5th is the last Monday before my 30th birthday (can also be proven), and I want to wrap up my twenties in style – with my lady at my side and awesome performers in the city I love.

  79.   Carl Says:

After volunteering for the Oregon Food Bank that day I would truly enjoy some time off my feet and with a crowd of exciting people to rejuvenate for the fests continuing acts.

  80.   Jennifer Says:

I’ve always wanted to do a Portland cruise, but it’s one of those little luxuries that’s just out of my budge. To do one with such amazing music and artists would just be icing on the cake. I’m always grateful for whatever shows up in my life, so if it’s meant to be it’s meant to be. If not, someone else will have a grand time too. :)

  81.   Jill Says:

LaRhonda Steele is just plain amazing!!!! She touches so many people with her music…please let her reach out and touch my soul!!!

  82.   Sister Krissy Says:

Well, you named the whole cruise after a Sister, of course this Sister wants on. And I’d love to promulgate joy and hand out bliss kits. Safety first!

I would love to attend with my mother who is a huge blues lover!

Blues cruise? You provide the cruise, Ill buy the booze, and Ill make this a blues booze cruise. Thats what Im talkin about!

  99.   Teresa Boze Says:

I’m originally a Chicago Blues girl- Id see BB King on Easter when he came home to see familiy and book a performance. He’d wear block-tie formal. And John Lee Hooker and Bobby Blue Bland.

But down the river- in a river town like Portland- was the Alligator Bar and Grill, where Koko would sit in on Sunday nights with some of the boys down state. I think she had sisters there.

Now, no one can take the Queen’s place, but UmmmMmmm Linda, when she croons, and Julianne she holds those notes so fine. And I miss the river and the music, and I’d like to ride that blue water just one more time.

  100.   Emily Says:

There is nothing better than being on a boat on a beautiful summer day! this is how I grew up and it has been years since I’ve had the luxury to do so! I would love the chance to go out on the water and see Portland as I have not had the chance to see it! this would make my summer, and give me an opportunity I would never get otherwise! this would make the best 4th in years!!!

  101.   Jenny Says:

I want to win, nay, I SHOULD win, because I’ve loved blues since I was a baby (ray charles was my first concert), I’m only visiting portland and need to be convinced that this is the place I should live, and my best friend really needs something free for us to do! we got those i’m-broke-livin-on-macncheese-at-25-yrs-old bluuueeeeeesssssssssss.

  102.   Rachel Says:

    Sounds fabulous! Pick me!!

    So, who won??

  105.   Paula Says:

Since living in Canada the last 30 years, this being my first JULY 4th Celebration in the USA since moving back to the USA, it would be perfect! Nobody celebrates like the Americans on July 4th. and.. it would be a good way for me to meet people!

  106.   Gordo Says:

We just found out that our 17 yr old gaughter is prego, I am cool with the grandpa thing at 40, but my wife is freakin’! She needs to get into a “blues groove” and chill…this would be perfect, and I might get lucky!
