May brings nice weather to Portland and nice weather brings street festivals and neighborhood parties. St Johns is kicking off the fest season this Saturday with the St. Johns Parade (48th year!) and the St. Johns Bizarre with music, crafts, beer, and hopefully sunshine.

St. johns bizarre gets refined, sort of
Annual street festival polishes up popular Day-Before-Mother’s Day market, secures impressive musical line-up for the 4th annual street festival on May 8th
The St. Johns Bizarre Supreme Council is eager to open the 4th edition of its annual street festival on May 8th, from 10AM until 6PM. The event falls on the same day as the historic St. Johns Parade, which celebrates its 48th parade this year. The Bizarre provides both the before-and-after-party to this north Portland tradition.
Over 70 local arts & crafts vendors highlight this year’s market, selling incredible handmade goods. The likes of Jill Bliss, Scrumptious Suds Soap, Dolcetti Jewelry, Little Lark Shirts, and Two Guitars Cards will offer high-quality handmade jewelry, clothing, painted prints, and photography. U.S. Bank in St. Johns has graciously offered up their downtown property for the entire market.
Street Closures
Philadelphia and Leavitt Avenues will be closed at 8AM until 6PM. Lombard Street will be closed between John and Baltimore Avenues starting at 2pm (immediately following the Parade) until 6PM. The Bizarre Main Stage will be located on Lombard Street adjacent to the Plaza.
The Proper Eats Café Stage will be located on Alta Avenue, music beginning at 2pm. The Anna Bannanas Café Stage will be located on Lombard (near Baltimore), beginning at 3pm.
