Andre scored a career -high 52 points last night against the Dallas Mavericks. From what I remember/heard while watching, the Blazer game scoring record is 54 points by Damon Stoudamire.

We did a quick little survey on twitter the other evening to find out where people enjoy bowling more, Powell Lanes or Hollywood Bowl. Hollywood Bowl won by a landslide (and I think Pink Floyd played the one a bit south of here).

Tonight begins the annual Mustaches For Kids growing season which culminates in the 'Stache Bash in February. If you want to be involved, you'll have to shave off your current Shache and Bishops will do it for free.

A Bower from the January Rain

Laying your head down on a pillow of cool grass with the warm wind tickling your ears might be the cheesiest and most Thoreauesque way to describe North Carolina's Bowerbirds — but it fits. The calm wave of Beth Tacular's accordion meshing with the water droplet nylon plink of Phil Moore's guitar soothes the ear like a record turning the room into a field of folk. Warm vocals brimming with melancholy wrap around sincere lyrics that can hush a harmony into a teardrop smile.

Bowerbirds newest release Upper Air (released on Dead Oceans) follows in the calm footsteps of Hymns for a Dark Horse but does not waver in a well-rounded improvement. Upper Air breathes like an open lung on the first day of Spring, clear and vibrant a harp made of grass blades and 1,000 year old trees.
