Tonight: Stumptown Lowdown – Trivia Night on Portland

A few weeks back, I was able to talk Shanrocks into having a trivia night on the city of Portland. Well, tonight is that night. Some Pipeliners will be there tonight if you'd like to show how much more you know about PDX than us. One of the rounds will be pictures around Portland and you have to name where, such as in this picture right here.

Message from Shanrocks (website):
Some questions will be on the easier side, and some will be challenging! That material will be half pop culture and half book learnin' – local geography, music, history, literature, night life, science, TV & film (both filmed here and set here) are all fair game.

Maximum team size is five, and the champion team wins a cheap trophy and a $25 gift certificate to East Burn.

Mayor Sam Adams Lights Rudolph | Made In Oregon Sign

Portland Mayor Sam Adams
Commissioner Randy Leonard
Made in Oregon Sign
Taken on November 20, 2009

Mayor Adams and Randy Leonard lit up Rudolph last night, so I guess the holidays are officially here. I haven't continued to pay attention to the “Made In Oregon” sign debate, so not sure if this is the last year we will see it in this form.

Get A Tattoo To Benefit Mt. Hood National Forest | November 22

From our partners at Icon Tattoo
Are you permanently in love with Oregon's forests? Prove it to the world by getting a tattoo to benefit BARK! BARK is an amazing nonprofit that fights to protect Mt. Hood National Forest from logging and exploitation. For one day only, Icon Tattoo teams up with BARK for a most unique fundraiser.

On Sunday, November 22, all eight of Icon's tattoo artists will spend the day doing small, pre-drawn forest-themed tattoos for set prices and donate 100% of the cost of tattoos to BARK.

Have your choice of beautiful ferns, mushrooms, squirrels, birds, trees, and other delightful native flora and fauna, AND do your good deed for the week! For $25, get the very distinctive outline of Mt. Hood and a BARK membership! Other tattoo designs will range in price from $40-$70. For a few extra dollars, the newly tattooed can have their picture taken by a BARK volunteer as a keepsake, and for the very enthusiastic, or the interested-but-hesitant, a silent auction will have tattoo gift certificates available for the bidding.

You'll never feel better about getting tattooed!
