Back Fence PDX: Seven Stories based on the theme Get Me Outta Here | November 19

Posted by Sasha Burchuk

Its now cold, rainy, and getting dark at four pm. Winter is upon us, and Ray Davies singing about tea and a toasted butter currant bun/meant to compensate for lack of sun is beginning to seem very apropos. It's the time of the season for drafting a survival plan for how to weather the next six months of steady rain. I plan on going to as many readings as possible, even if they are "cold" readings, like this one*.

While there won't be tea or butter-currant buns — sorry — there will be free cupcakes and a fine line-up of folks from all walks of life to tell you their true stories; eight-minutes-and-under novellas — among them, recent Literary Death Match winner and author of Our Beloved 26th Riley Michael Parker; political blogger and future senator (we hope) Karol Collymore; and former corrections officer Rory Miller. Each guest will present you with an unscripted story that has never been iterated before any other theater audience, based on this month's theme of Get Me Outta Here.
