Portland's Holiday Ale Festival = West Coast's Most Prestigious Winter Beer Sampling Opportunity | December 2-6

Malice at the Holiday Ale Festival, Portland, Oregon
Malice @ Holiday Ale Festival 2007
Portland, Oregon

Wednesday through Sunday brings my favorite beer fest in Portland. I don't know if their claim as the “West Coast's most prestigious winter beer sampling opportunity” is true or not, but I wouldn't doubt it.  There is something about drinking strong beers in a big warm tent during the cold, wet month of December that just feels right. Even Malice, Portland's premiere adult dancer came out to the fest in 2007.

No word on whether you'll see her there this year, but I did see her car was for sale the other day (NSFW).

Portland Santacon Message From Drunken Rampage | 2009

Santacon, Portland, Oregon, defending the public from santas
Portland Santacon
Jason Quigley Photography

Even though the above picture was taken way back in 2005, it is still one of my favorites. Police and Santa are apparently not BFFs on Satacon day. Because of this, Santacon has been a bit slippery with the event info these days. Last year they gave the famous Hillsboro fake-out. It appears if you want the real deal info this year, you gotta volunteer.

Portland Thanksgiving With Turkey Tracker | Oregon Food Bank Benefit

We posted about Turkey Tracker last Thanksgiving  and I ended up watching a bit as well since the football wasn't particularly good. I enjoyed the show and they are really stepping it up this time. The event received all kinds of press (CNN I believe) and this year they are raising money for Oregon Food Bank.
