Marco Beneveto Trio @ Goodfoot (Upright Piano) | October 29

After you check out the great Last Thursday show at Goodfoot, you can go downstairs and see Marco Benevent trio on the upright piano action. Neil over at Goodfoot sent this info about the show:

Marco will be playing an upright piano for this show (a really beautiful one I've rented for the night), though often times he will be playing it through an array of effects. Last time he played here it was absolutely spectacular. He's a rare musician/composer.

From Press Release:
For an exhilarating glimpse into the future of jazz key-boards, look no further than Marco BenevetoMarco Benevento-lo. A melodically inventive musical adventurer who artfully employs pedals, amplifiers, rejiggered electronic toys and sundry effects, Benevento has forged a fascinating repertoire of songs by the likes of Neil Young, Led Zeppelin and Beck, interspersed with wildly original com-positions. His indie rock influenced duo with drummer Joe Russo brought a bracing jolt of improvisation into settings like Lollapalooza, SXSW and Bonnaroo, while on his own Benevento has collaborated with funk- and rock-steeped players such as Charlie Hunter, Stanton Moore and Phish's Trey Anastasio.

His latest album ME NOT ME is a gorgeously textured session featuring bassist Reed Mathis (Tea Leaf Green) and drummers Matt chamberlain (Bill Frisell, Garbage) and Andrew Barr (The Slip).
