Portland Naked Bike Ride With The Flaming Lips | September 23

I 've noticed a lot of people still seem to not know about this and we wouldn't want to disappoint the Flaming Lips with our lack of naked bikers, since….Naked Bike riding + Mount Tabor + Flaming Lips = Portland Heaven

It's going to be in the 90s tomorrow, so all works out for you and your birthday suit.

Are you on the twitter? Follow @pdxbikes (& @bikeportland) to see Portland bike tweets and use the #pdxbikes hashtag when sending out Portland bike info.

From Bike Portland (quote from Wayne Coyne):
For the sake of the shoot we would rather no tall bikes or abnormally small bikes, it's just easier on the camera guy, George. Though if some show up I'm sure they will figure it out. We are looking for things to be as natural as possible so we are discouraging costumes and body paint. Though if people want to make themselves shiny with baby oil or something, that will play off the lights well! Read the full story here

No tall bikes? No short bikes? No body paint? What's next…no fixed gears? That might be “natural” in the OKC, but not the PDX, Mr Coyne. ;)

Review: Dining at Portland's H5O Bistro in Hotel Fifty

    Posted by Kristen Imes

    Hotel Fifty drink, Portland

    Hotel Fifty, Portland Oregon

As a general rule, I have an aversion to restaurants that are attached to hotels, but on occasion, there are exceptions to this rule – one of these exceptions being H5O Bistro, attached to Hotel Fifty.  One of the things

that I enjoyed most about this restaurant were its classical approaches to modern cuisine. The service was excellent, the food was delicious and flavorful, and the ambiance was both relaxed and refined.

On a recent outing, my friend and I went there to enjoy a few cocktails overlooking Waterfront Park and the river, and then ended up ordering a few appetizers from their tapas-inspired menu. We had two amazing cocktails – the Bliss, a lovely libation of Bombay, St. Germain, and white peach puree – as well as the Perfect, which was, as the name suggests, perfect. I mean, how could one go wrong with bourbon and bourbon soaked bing cherries?

The duck confit with house-made gnocchi, fennel pollen, tomato, and crispy parmesan was Read the rest of this entry »

Description: Club kingsnake presents The Meat Puppets performing the song Plateau live at the Republic of Texas Biker Rally in Austin, Texas on 6/1/2007

The Meat Puppets are playing a free in-store performance this evening at Music Millennium. That's your Tuesday taken care of.

    From Press Release:

    MEAT PUPPETS
    Tuesday, 9/22 – 6 PM
Out of all of the bands that made SST Records a towering force in the American underground during the mid-'80s, the Meat Puppets lasted the longest, surviving where other bands fell apart. Not only did they play hard, loud, and fast, but they also had elements of the blues-rock of ZZ Top, the ambling folk-rock of the Grateful Dead, and Neil Young's country-rock and hard rock. myspace.com/themeatpuppets
