Logistical Volunteers: August 13th & 14th, 2 – 5 PM
Badge Maker – If you are handy with an image file and don't mind parking yourself in front of your fancy laptop for an hour or so, we cold really use someone to create the name badges that all of our amazing volunteers will wear during opening and closing nights, as well as gallery hours. Â You will not be responsible for printing materials or badge-construction, just the design process. Â Let me know if you want to get creative with this one.
Sign set up – Â Have you seen the Manor?? Â In all its glory and enormity, it promises to be the home of one legendary event…. legendary, but possibly CONFUSING. Â We will supply you with a ridiculous stack of signs and the layout. Â Get lost and inside and put up signs with us.
Format room tags and labels – Work with Gavin, our Creative Director, in formatting and printing out the hundreds of room tags to adorn the entrances of each artists space. Â Be prepared to perform some basic data entry and follow a template to get these ready for display.
Label Assistant – While each artist is responsible for labeling their own art, each artist's ROOM will be labeled in the hallway – and that's our job. Â Three floors of it! Â So come get acquainted with the Manor and each artist inhabiting it by spending a couple hours labeling their room with us.
Gallery Hours – 2 hour or 4 hour shifts
1 to 7 PM daily from August 14 – August 22
1 to 10 PM on Fridays and Saturdays
Entry Attendants – You are the face of the Manor of Art! Â Welcome guests, let them know our system for purchasing pieces, ask for the suggested donation of $10, provide a warm greeting and count them with a super high-tech clicky counter thing. Â You know what I'm talking about.
Manor Monitors – Make yourself available to guests in need of information or directions! Â Get into conversations, look at the art, and direct people to the bathroom, stairs, elevator, or party! Â Make sure there is no booze in the gallery or art rooms, be it a party-goer or a sneaky artist who may have supplied their own. Â You also need to keep your eyes and ears open for any possible art thievery – certainly unlikely, but also a possibility. Â So remain vigilant while enjoying yourself.
Opening, Closing, and Music Events Volunteer Squad – 3 hour shifts
Friday, August 14th, 6 – 9 PM
Saturday, August 15th, 3 – 9 PM
Friday, August 21st, 6 – 9 PM
Saturday, August 22nd, 3 – 9 PM
Art Sales Team
Sales – Run the credit card machine located in the Manor entry and provide all art buyers with excellent customer service. Â Make sure our art runners know where they're going with those red dots when a sold piece is ready to be marked off. Â Manage some minor amounts of paperwork and facilitate the financial support of an entire retirement home of artists.
Art Runners – Assist with art sales by escorting purchasers to the sales purveyors at the entry, marking sold art with dots, and keeping things organized
Event Management Team
Entry Attendants – You are the face of the Manor of Art! Â Welcome guests, let them know our system for purchasing pieces, ask for the suggested donation of $10, provide a warm greeting and count them with a super- high tech clicky counter thing.
Volunteer Room Assistant – Come hang out with me for a few hours!!
Clean Up Crew – You guessed it. Â Help us spruce up a bit after the madness on opening and closing night, as well as after our music events. Â A most essential and appreciated volunteer roll.
Courtyard Attendants – Same as the Manor Monitors, but outside! Â May be asked to help the bands with gear.
Stage Manager – Help the bands with load in and set up, keep the show on schedule. Â Experience in this area is a huge plus, but not a requirement.
