As you might have seen, we have been polling Twitter and Facebook for months on suggestions of where to eat, drink and go out. You can see all those here: Portland Bars, Food, Drinks & More

This week, we asked a question that Don Ortega suggested: Where are the best french fries in Portland? Potato Champion continues to have many fans. Kenny & Zuke's, Bonfire Lounge & Jade Tea House (Sellwood) also get multiple votes.

The concept of Potato Champ comes very close to the original “baraque a frites” or “friet kot” in Belgium, country of origin and still best place for french fries. :-)

Many, many answers from twitter after the break...

Also want to add that being from Hawaii, I notice that they spell Kilawea wrong (it is actually spelled Kilauea) but maybe they did that for a reason? Could be interesting to find out.

Um, how did Produce Row Cafe get ignored? Best. Fries. Ever.

  3.   Julian Chadwick Says:

They are good. However, many people still don’t know about them and probably don’t think about them much since they are so tucked away in SE industrial. Also, usually have a good pinball machine in there.

  4.   Jennifer Says:

Sweet potato fries @ Holden’s Bistro, as well as Mint/820. Chef Kenny’s fries @ Bluehour. Amazingly salty fries @ Clyde Common!

surprised no @beerandblog attendees mentioned the conical tower of fries at @pdxgreendragon too.

    I really love this website.

  7.   Rhi Says:

Ten-01 has awesome fries. And, on the less fancy scale, I love the fries from Stanich’s.

  8.   Ashlan Cabanilla Says:

Jamaican jerk fries at Oba in the Pearl, they’re so good (and became so popular) they took them off the main menu!

  9.   Emily Says:

Henry’s Tavern has amazing gorgonzola waffle fries and the happy hour price can’t be beat!

I just blogged about this! Laurelhurst Market, bar none.

  11.   Leyna Says:

I haven’t been there in quite a while, but I remember really loving the fries at Mother’s…

  12.   devrap Says:

Ditto on Pause’s fries. Big crispy steak fries, yes! (They also have a very good homemade veggie burger, which doesn’t hurt.)

  13.   Stephanie Says:

Elephant’s Deli–perfectly crisp on the outside and soft in the middle, just the right amount of kosher salt, three dipping sauces–fabulous!

  14.   Denise dS Says:

Castagna, Castagna, Castagna, Castagna, Castagna, Castagna, Castagna, Castagna…good lord people, how can no one have mentioned Castagna? Crisp, thin, salty, potatoey…I can give or take the burger but I can’t live without a periodic fries fix. (Did I mention Castagna?)

  15.   autumn Says:

The HobNob Bar & Grille… tasty fries with DELISH dipping sauces (curry ketchup, malt vinegar mayo…). They just opened in February, AWESOME staff, & great prices, go show ‘em some luv!

  16.   Stutz Says:

Michael’s. Why are all those places with soggy fries considered so good? Michael’s fries are crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, and go perfect with the Chicago Beef sandwiches.

  17.   Cherie Says:

The beer battered fries at Old Market Pub on Multnomah Blvd. are amazing!!!
