Tonight: Beer + iPhone Launch Party = Taplister @ East Burn
July 6, 2009 — Julian ChadwickThis is one of the only cities (no, the only) I know of
where techies and beers are this fond of each other. The most obvious beer-tech love fest is the Friday mingler known as beer and blog.
Tonight marks the newest product to come out of these drunken hours and that is an iPhone app known as Beer Signal. It shows you what beers are on tap all over Portland, plus has live camera feeds of a couple bars and other capabilities that are being added by the minute. The launch party also takes place at East Burn, which is one of the best inner SEÂ bars (technically just East, but it has that SE feel) and they have $10 pitchers from Upright Brewery and Hopworks. Even if you do not have an iPhone and have no plans to get one (no, seriously get one. they are fantastic unless you like making calls), $10 pitchers from those breweries is hard to beat.
