Well, it is again time for another Drunken Rampage event and this is a good one- Plunderathon. There have been two emails from them in the last month about this event and they are reproduced below.

Plunderathon message one:

Yarrrrr!

Ok ye scalawags, buccaneers, thieves and scoundrels! It is once again time to take revenge upon the city that has so wronged us! For the sins committed way back in 1843, We Pirates will pillage and plunder our way through the fair streets of Port-Land on July 11 (the same day it has been every year for 166 years without fail).

Update: 2010 Mississippi Avenue Street Fair Pictures & Information: "Largest Street Fair in Portland" | July 10

The Mississippi Street Fair is next weekend and is always one of the top street fairs in Portland. Last year it was a million degrees and I stayed in, so these pictures and video are from 2007. Also, it looks like it will only be in the 80s on Saturday, so that is perfect (as of now, don't hate if it goes for the 100s).

Seattle's Natalie Portman's Shaved Head is one of those bands that, once you hear about, you can't seem to forget, if only because of their ridiculous V is for Vendetta inspired name (an alias that they created as a team name for a vocabulary contest).

With lyrics like “I picked her up in my Trans, and, baby / We hit the night like a slap in the face” and “Do you like my sideways ponytail? / I do! I do!”, their music is equally as ridiculous. And fun-loving. And super danceable. And unlike some of the other similar 80's synth-pop/electro/happy-go-lucky indie rock music nowadays, Natalie Portman's Shaved Head can actually pull it off.

Portland Fireworks

I've taken “normal” fireworks photos before with pretty good success, so this year I decided to experiment with this focus blur technique. For the first half of the show I started to wonder if I'd even get a single good shot out of it, so I'm pretty blown away that so many of them turned out well.

Last night, a few of us in the Pipeline Posse viewed America's birthday  from atop one of Portland's best ballrooms, the Bossanova. Afterwards, we shot some of our own off in the parking lot & Christine made this video and surprisingly was never burned.
