Super XX Man + Hello Damascus at Mississippi Studios | March 12

If you are in North Portland or can make it that way tomorrow night, this is definitely one of the better shows this weekend (weekends start on Thursdays now).

From Press Release:
Super XX Man at Mississippi Studios, Portland, OregonSuper XX Man
Scott Garred started off his career as Super XX Man (pronounced “super double ex man”) in the mid-'90s while still a member of the Austin, TX indie pop trio Silver Scooter, putting out a pair of self-released cassettes. Garred has since relocated to Portland, OR, continuing a steady stream of releases that have moved from home recorded four-track material to full fledged studio productions. Along the way, he has also turned Super XX Man into a bona fide band, that these days features his wife Michelle on accordion, singer Ali Wesley, Kelly Dachtler, and drummer Bob Ham.
Super XX Man has been featured on OPB and recently NPR's: Tiny Desk Concert Series on  All Things Considered.

Hello Damascus

Hello Damascus has recorded a follow-up to 2006's acclaimed Harvest Dolls that is yet unreleased and the band hasnt been seen live since August of 08.

Autopilot Is For Lovers
Adrienne is from Montclair, New Jersey. Paul is from Salem, Oregon. Adrienne is the great-niece of Henny Youngman, the “King of the One-Liners”, author of such classic phrases as “Take my wife – please.” When Paul was seventeen his choir sang at Carnegie Hall, but he and some friends were sent home early when a bottle of whiskey was discovered in their hotel room. They never even got to drink the whiskey.

Adrienne is an ex and founding member of The Builders and The Butchers and Paul is a current member of the Butchers.

The band uses a revolving cast of guest musicians to enhance the sound and make each show a unique musical experience.
