An endless and intimate resource with a personal voice. Being involved in a literary life, you start thinking like a chef. This is good: how is it made? My forays led to the copy machine, folding and stapling paper into little books.

With a hundred neatly packaged tomes, I started selling. Lucky for me, there's a retail outlet that caters independently produced books, magazines, comics, zines, cards, and CDs. Reading Frenzy is conveniently near Powell's, just head down the way along SW Oak past Rocco's Pizza.

Our goal is not to scale up to the mass-market,” retailer Chloe Eudaly explains. The small press movement is slow food. “It's labor intensive and done for the love of it. The goal is to make special, hand-made, limited edition books.”

The table is set for a feast at Holocene: March 5th.

Zero Film Festival at Gallery Homeland | March 1

There are many events this Sunday in Portland, but this is the only film event that we know of. The concept is an interesting one–films made on zero budget. If you haven't been to galleryHomeland yet, this is a good chance to view the space.
